Shergold Masquerader Classic SM03
Shergold Masquerader Classic SM03
Something a little different, and a guitar with a distinctly British character. The Shergold Masquerader Classic SM03 is the modern interpretation of one of Britain's most distinctive guitar designs. Reimagined in the UK by respected British luthier Patrick James Eggle, it retains the unmistakable Masquerader shape while introducing modern construction, hardware and electronics. At its heart is a solid mahogany body paired with one of the standout features of the Masquerader Classic – a beautifully smooth solid rosewood neck and rosewood fingerboard. The neck is hand-burnished rather than heavily lacquered, giving it a wonderfully natural feel in the hand. ([Shergold Guitars][1]) Electronics are particularly impressive. The SM03 is fitted with a trio of USA-made Seymour Duncan Vintage pickups: SSL-2 at the neck, reverse-wound SSL-2 in the middle and an STL-2 at the bridge. The result is a versatile range of clear, articulate single-coil sounds covering everything from clean rhythm and blues through to indie, classic rock and more driven tones. ([Shergold Guitars][1]) The specification continues with a 25.5" scale length, 12" fingerboard radius, Graph Tech Black TUSQ nut, locking machineheads and Shergold's PJE-designed Custom T bridge with compensated brass saddles. Hand-inlaid aluminium position markers and distinctive Shergold detailing complete a guitar that really doesn't look or feel like everything else on the wall. ([Shergold Guitars][1]) Specification Shergold Masquerader Classic SM03 Designed in the UK by Patrick James Eggle Solid mahogany body Solid rosewood bolt-on neck Hand-burnished neck finish Rosewood fingerboard with rosewood binding 25.5" / 648mm scale length 12" / 305mm fingerboard radius Medium-jumbo frets Hand-inlaid aluminium position markers * Graph Tech Black TUSQ nut * USA Seymour Duncan SSL-2 neck pickup * USA Seymour Duncan SSL-2Rw middle pickup * USA Seymour Duncan STL-2 bridge pickup 5-way pickup selector PJE Design Shergold Custom T bridge Compensated brass saddles Staggered-height locking machineheads * Chrome hardware The Masquerader is a great choice for somebody looking for something genuinely distinctive without sacrificing practicality or playability. It's unmistakably a Shergold, but underneath the unusual styling is a very usable, well-specified instrument with some excellent hardware and pickups. The guitar has been fully checked and professionally set up by Six String Garage, so it's ready to play from the moment you take it home. As with all our used guitars, it is also supplied with our 6-month Six String Garage warranty for complete peace of mind. £479.00 A distinctive British-designed guitar, an excellent set of USA Seymour Duncan pickups and that superb solid rosewood neck make the Masquerader Classic a particularly interesting alternative to the usual Strat and Tele-style choices at this price. Available from Six String Garage, Whitminster. Viewing and collection welcome.
